aaron-riley-2.jpgA lightweight matchup between Aaron Riley (30-13-1 MMA, 3-5 UFC) and Justin Salas (10-4 MMA, 1-1 UFC) is the latest addition to the UFC on FOX 8 lineup.

The new booking was revealed during Tuesday’s new edition of “UFC Tonight.”

Featuring a flyweight title fight between current champion Demetrious Johnson and challenger John Moraga, UFC on FOX 8 takes place July 27 at Seattle’s KeyArena. The evening’s main card airs on FOX.

The Riley vs. Salas fight is expected to take place on the evening’s preliminary card, portions of which air on FX and stream on Facebook.

Both Riley and Salas are both looking to rebound from losses, and both were recently forced to pull out of scheduled appearances due to injury.

Riley, a near-16-year veteran of the sport, hasn’t competed since September 2011, when a broken jaw forced him to quit on the stool after the first round of a bout with Tony Ferguson. Riley was then expected to return in May 2012 in a UFC on FUEL TV 3 bout with Cody McKenzie. However, injury forced Riley out of that contest, and he has been sitting idle since.

The 32-year-old Riley has competed just six times in the octagon in the past four-and-a-half years.

Meanwhile, Salas fights for the first time since a June 2012 loss to Tim Means, a result that snapped a six-fight win streak for “J-Bomb.” He was expected to return to action in January against Edson Barboza at UFC on FX 7, but injury forced him to withdraw from the fight.
