Ratings continued to climb this week for Spike TV’s “The Ultimate Fighter,” as episode three scored a 1.3 household rating for an average audience of 1.8 million viewers. This marks an increase from episode two, which scored a 1.2 rating with 1.7 million viewers.

The episode also earned a 1.71 rating in the male 18-49 demographic, a 1.90 in men 18-34 and a 2.3 in males 25-34.

Episode three featured a match-up between Team St. Pierre’s number one pick Michael Johnson and Team Koscheck’s Aaron Wilkinson. After two hard-fought rounds, UFC President Dana White announced that a third frame would be required to decide a winner. A tired Johnson caught his second wind and came out swinging in the third period, dropping the Brit and sinking in a rear-naked choke for the victory.

Former undisputed heavyweight boxing champion “Iron” Mike Tyson made an appearance on the episode, visiting Johnson in his locker room before the fight and sitting next to Dana White during the contest.

The show is in its 12th season. Coaches Josh Koscheck and Georges St. Pierre will meet in December at UFC 124 in Montreal for St. Pierre’s welterweight title. That fight will be a rematch of their 2007 contest in which St. Pierre outwrestled the four-time NCAA All-American en route to a unanimous decision victory.
