The UFC and UFC President Dana White have decided to part ways with former featherweight champion Cris Cyborg. In an interview with Laura Sanko released Friday, White said not only was Cyborg cut, but explained his reasoning. He tried to argue Cyborg was creating an elaborate ruse to avoid fighting Amanda Nunes and bizarrely invoked Germaine de Randamie's decision to not fight Cyborg as evidence of both hypocrisy and sporting principle. He also seemed to not understand the significance of calling Cyborg 'Wanderlei Silva in a dress' at the UFC 172 pre-fight scrum or how that might damage relationships. In this video, I lay out the case for why it's best the two have parted and Cyborg appears headed for Bellator MMA.
