Round one saw the fighters trade hard strikes for most of the round before Hocum got a takedown. Mumma recovered to end in top north/south and work GNP before the fighters scrambled to standing to end the round. Round two again saw good striking from both fighters with each landing hard. Hocum shot for a takedown but Mumma defended and ended in side control after a scramble. Mumma then let Hocum stand and each landed hard shots in and out of the clinch. Round three once more had hard punch exchanges before Mumma staggered Hocum with dirty boxing. Hocum dropped down for a rolling knee bar but Mumma transitioned from side control to back control and Mumma stayed active looking to escape. Mumma worked hard GNP to set up a transition to full mount to end the round. The scorecards were read and the winner by unanimous decision was Cody Mumma
