A fantastic pairing of Justin Gaethje and Rafael Fiziev will compete in the UFC 286 co-main event on Saturday in London.

Gaethje hasn't been seen since his unsuccessful title attempt against Charles Oliveira at UFC 274, but the fan favorite seems to have been working hard to get ready for his return this weekend.

Gaethje will not only be defending his top-five contender ranking from Fiziev, who is looking to break through, but he will also be trying to get back in the win column.

Fiziev may have already defeated a former champion in Rafael dos Anjos in July, but it would be priceless for him to add Gaethje to his resume for pay-per-view.

This fight has potential fireworks written all over it, just like most high-level affairs at 155 pounds.

Each fighter has a talent for turning defense into offense in addition to the fact that both men prefer to conduct business on the ground.

Gaethje initially charged into the fray like your typical bull in a china shop, but under Trevor Wittman's guidance, the 13-year veteran has steadily honed his striking methods and strategies.

Wittman has trained some reliable countering triggers into Gaethje as a coach who strengthens fundamentals and aids his fighters in gaining strength.

Gaethje has evolved into a much more dynamic threat in the pocket, whether he is countering inside parries or slipping to the outside to hit uppercut-hook returns.

On the other hand, Fiziev's counters have a slightly different design.

Fiziev is more than capable of hitting an uppercut-hook return on his own, but the Kyrgyzstani native prefers to counter in tandem, punctuating his presence with body blows and hard kicks.

Don't be shocked to see Gaethje start to raise the temperature and force his way into the pocket for some of his classic dirty boxing if Fiziev exercises his on-paper edge at kicking range.

Gaethje is an unforgiving clinch fighter who can throw uppercuts and leg kicks in tight spaces while still having the aggressive wherewithal to stop deep takedown attempts.

However, Fiziev is not exactly a slouch in this area either, which could be problematic.

Fiziev, an accomplished muay Thai coach and competitor who was also a national champion in combat sambo, seems to be quite at ease when it comes to framing and locating brutal body knees inside the clinch( which might be encouraging given the success fighters like Oliveira and Eddie Alvarez had using the same techniques).
