The last fight of the night ended with a new Middleweight Champion being crowned in Casey Ryan, but not without a bit of Controversy. A very determined and skilled Matt Lagler works through a vicious low blow and then an early stoppage as Casey takes Matt's back. Although in the rules meeting it was reiterated that if you are on bottom and you are not offering an exchange the fight would be stopped I believe this fight could have gone on knowing how tough Matt is and at this juncture he wasn't hurt. Making sure we give credit to Casey as well, Casey was in a dominant position and certainly in control of the Round at that time. Casey is a tough SOB and will certainly find himself knocking on the UFC door in the future! Perhaps these two will see each other back in the cage soon!
