Nov 2003 - Smiling at my Pops, (who was losing his shit) in the front row of my first fight. Guaranteed $200 to fight ($20 less than rent for the month). I was fresh out of graduating and earning a BScience degree from UCDavis . @sonnench @chrislebenmma James Irvin and Scott Smith were all on the card, and @mark_munoz was in my corner 3 yrs before he fought... I didn’t tell my mom till 3 weeks later, I let her watch the VHS tape in our Jenky VCR...she quickly offered to pay me to never do it again, to which I answered “ok, $400 every minute and a half.” I saw a bright future, while there was no real path. The @ufc only had 3 events a year and 170 lbs was the lightest weight class. I made my first @alphamaleclothes shirt a month later and started recruiting all my toughest friends. It was the last time I was an opener for a fight. I love this game! #ufcsacramento #passion
