Their first fight was one many consider one of the best fights in MMA history.
Sure, it was a little sloppy at times with both fighters appearing to be out of gas at separate points. But it was back and forth with big momentum swings and could have gone either way.
When Dan Henderson and Mauricio Rua got together again in Rua’s home country of Brazil, things were a little different – until “Hendo” turned everything around with a remarkable comeback.
This week, Henderson (30-13 MMA, 7-7 UFC) returns to action in the main event of UFC Fight Night 68 against Tim Boetsch (18-8 MMA, 7-5 UFC). UFC Fight Night 68 takes place Saturday at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. Following two early prelims on UFC Fight Pass, the rest of the card airs on FOX Sports 1.
Henderson, 44, will be fighting for the 44th time. He’s a slight underdog against Boetsch. He was a 2-1 underdog against “Shogun” when the two met at UFC Fight Night 38 15 months ago and needed to snap a three-fight losing skid.
Check out how he did it in the full fight video above. Then don’t miss his return against Boetsch on Saturday – when he’ll try to win for the first time since his rematch with Rua.
