Former welterweight Anthony Johnson is enjoying life as a 205-pounder. Really enjoying it, it seems. In fact, the UFC contender is making the most of it and now has a new policy for autographs.
Johnson, an admitted gummy-bear addict, now has one small requirement to get his signature. As he semi-joked today on Facebook:
Johnson’s love affair with the gummy treats is well-documented. Even in his early UFC days, when he consistently struggled to make weight and eventually was cut from the organization, Johnson said his preferred post-fight meal consisted of gummies.
Now that he’s no longer struggling to get to 171 pounds, the 30-year-old has resurrected his career at light heavyweight and entered a competitive title picture. The extra weight allowance is beneficial, and it’s apparently carried over to his autograph policy:
No sugar free gummies either—

After racking up six straight victories with Titan FC and WSOF after his UFC release, Johnson returned to the UFC earlier this year and scored a decision victory over top contender Phil Davis at UFC 172. His weight was no longer a concern, and in the Davis victory, he displayed remarkably improved cardio that carried him through the grueling three-rounder.
“Rumble” (17-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC), who’s now ranked No. 6 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA light heavyweight rankings, next fights Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (21-5 MMA, 4-2 UFC) at UFC on FOX 12 on July 26 in San Jose.
