Video: Urijah Faber samples one of Japan's inky 'black burgers'

TOKYO – “Black burgers” are apparently all the rage in Japan, and while in the country for Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 52 event, bantamweight contender Urijah Faber volunteered to be our guinea pig.

It’s a pretty remarkable feat considering Faber rarely eats fast food. He told us he’s eaten at Burger King, which recently released the all-black Kuro Burger in Japan, just a couple times. Hell, he’s never been to McDonald’s before. Still, he stepped up to taste the local fare.

For the uninitiated, the burger uses a regular beef patty, but the bun is blackened by squid ink. Black cheese and a special black sauce round out the unique sandwich.

After obliging some photo and autograph requests, Faber ordered his burger, sat down, inspected his meal and took a careful bite.
