This past month we spotlighted 21-year-old Thomas Almeida’s quest for a UFC contract. If he keeps doing what he did this past weekend, UFC executives are bound to notice.
The Brazilian bantamweight ran his record to 12-0 with a gutsy and trilling comeback win over Valdines Silva (8-4 at the time).
The July 13 bout took place at MMA Super Heroes 1 in Sao Paulo. You can watch the full fight above.
Despite his young age, Almeida has been training muay Thai for eight years and competing for five. He then made his pro MMA debut in May 2011, and in just two years, he’s registered 12 stoppages (eight knockouts and four submissions) in 12 career wins. All of the victories have come in the first round.
