Video: UFC fighters discuss Reebok deal – and many aren't happy

ADELAIDE, Australia – Now that fighters know the specifics of the UFC’s new sponsorship deal with Reebok, they’ve weighed in – and many of them aren’t exactly happy.

We caught up with a handful of fighters to discuss the UFC-Reebok “athlete outfitting policy,” which pays UFC competitors anywhere from $2,500 to $40,000 per fight based on seniority and title-fight status.

With the deal, which goes into effect on July 11 with UFC 189, all other fight-night sponsorships are banned. For fighters such as Brendan Schaub, who stands to earn $10,000 per fight with his Reebok fight-night apparel, it’s a substantial decline from his previous pay, which he said was six figures per bout from outside sponsorships.

Although some fighters in the above video look for the positives, many see the obvious drawbacks.
