The fervor over former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre‘s recent sabbatical continues to grow day by day.
The most recent fuel to the fire was a Fight Hub TV interview with one of St-Pierre’s trusted coaches, famed boxing trainer Freddie Roach. Roach said that he had been part of the counsel on telling St-Pierre to take a break, especially when the former champion began complaining of headaches.
UFC president Dana White on Wednesday evening responded to Roach’s comments during a stint on Fox Sports Live. “It was a whole set of different issues… personal problems. It had nothing to do with headaches or drug testing or anything else,” White said when commenting about what St-Pierre had told him and Lorenzo Fertitta about why he wanted to step away.
Until and unless Georges St-Pierre comes forward and reveals what he told White and Fertitta, and addresses all the other issues that have come to light, all in one fell swoop, the fervor is likely to intensify.
