Dan Hardy will have pressure on his shoulders, fighting quite literally on his home turf on Saturday in Nottingham, England, but nothing, hopefully will ever again rival the pressure he felt in his last bout, fighting for the mere survival of his UFC career.
That doesn’t mean that he’s not taking his UFC on Fuel TV 5 bout with Amir Sadollah and less seriously.
“No one comes to my hometown and takes it away from; it just don’t happen,” said Hardy in a recent UFC pre-fight interview. “The main event is Amir Sadollah hitting the canvas; that’s the grand finale.
“I can see that arena from my apartment. I will give it everything. That’s the last 15 minutes of my life, that night.”
Of course it always comes down to what happens in the cage, but if Hardy once again rises to the occasion, it could be a tough night for Sadollah.
