single-leg on the cage, but Watson denies the takedown attempt and
escapes. Watson lands a good knee up the middle after they break
and Tavares gives him a sharp combination in return. Watson kicks
to the liver, loops around the side with a left hook and kicks at
Tavares’ legs. Watson’s hooks are finding their marks now, while
Tavares is whiffing on counter uppercuts. Tavares pumps his jab and
then hits another takedown, this time leaping onto Watson’s back
with more than a minute remaining. After 30 seconds of trying for a
rear-naked choke, Tavares postures up and nearly gets shaken off.
He readjusts as Watson tries to stand and finishes the round
working for the choke.

Round 3
Tavares works his jab and lands a big right hand before denying a
takedown attempt. He takes the back of Watson standing and pulls
the Englishman to the ground. Watson grabs for a kimura and the
pair scramble back up, only for Tavares to score another takedown
moments later. Tavares pins Watson on the fence, but Watson is able
to stand. When he does, ref Roberts calls for time to have a piece
of tape cut from Watson’s glove. Watson gets Tavares on his knees
when they resume and tries to punish with heavy punches on the
ground. Tavares avoids any major damage and gets back up, and the
middleweights trade hard shots in the clinch. Tavares dives on a
leg and holds Watson against the fence with a minute remaining.
Watson thinks kimura, then grabs at Tavares’ back leg, but he looks
stuck on the fence. With seconds left, Watson esacapes to drill

Mike Whitman scores the round 10-9 Corassani
Round 2

while Akira counters. Ref Marc Goddard warns both men to watch
their low kicks after some grazing of the cups. Ogle pops Corassani
with a short left-overhand right and steps out of the way of a hook
kick. Ogle has his next volley countered and he flounders on a weak
takedown attempt. Ogle is back to circling the outside and
Corassani catches up with him to deliver a nice combo inside. Wild,
winging punches from Ogle now; Corassani replies with hooks. Ogle
times a punch, ducks under and wraps up Corassani’s legs for a
takedown with about 80 seconds to go. Ogle holds Corassani on the
ground, threatening with a loose headlock against the fence.
Corassani gets to a knee and Ogle tightens up the guillotine a bit,
making Corassani pause. Just before the horn, Ogle lets go and
swarms Corassani with a combination. The horn sounds and Corassani
throws a right hand a split-second later, dropping Ogle. Referee
Goddard doesn’t call it foul, Ogle hops up and the fighters go back
to their corners.

still in Ogle’s control, and Ogle punishes him with punches and
elbows from the kneeling crucifix position. The elbows are
particularly brutal and they’ve cut Corassani up around the outside
of his left eye. Corassani tries to roll and escape, but has

down. Sadollah quickly works back up to his feet with half the
round now gone. Sadollah pushes Hardy into the cage with
over-unders, then Hardy reverses and breaks out. Sadollah cracks
