Replacing the Team Alpha Male standout will be another “TUF 14” alum in Bryan Caraway, promotion officials announced Tuesday.
UFC on Fox 5 takes place Dec. 8 at Seattle’s KeyArena and will be headlined by a lightweight title collision between reigning champion Benson Henderson and No. 1 contender Nate Diaz.
A Washington native, Caraway competed on “TUF 14” as a featherweight, falling to Diego Brandao in their semifinal exhibition bout. The 28-year-old made his official UFC debut this past December, submitting cast mate Dustin Neace at the live season finale. Most recently, “Kid Lightning” made the cut to 135 pounds for a July 21 showdown with Octagon newcomer Mitch Gagnon, weathering an early storm from the Canadian prospect before finishing their UFC 149 bout with a third-round rear-naked choke.
Easton rides an eight-fight winning streak heading into his showdown with Caraway. “The Hulk” has competed for the UFC three times thus far, debuting one year ago with a technical knockout of Byron Bloodworth before taking a majority decision from Jared Papazian to kick off 2012. The 28-year-old last competed on July 7 at UFC 148, taking a unanimous decision from veteran Ivan Menjivar at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
