Round 2
Martins zaps Larsen with a nice uppercut, but the American stands
firm in the middle of the cage to continue striking. Larsen comes
in behind a big overhand right and holds Martins on the fence.
Larsen works on a single-leg for a few seconds, backs up and gets
hit with a short punch. Back on the single-leg goes Larsen; he
doesn’t try long this time, backing out with just over three
minutes left in the frame. Larsen eats a straight punch and
counters with a left hook, but the punch from Martins seems to have
opened up a large cut under Larsen’s right eye. Martins lands an
uppercut as Larsen walks him down on the fence and goes after
another single-leg. A clubbing left hook from Larsen backs Martins
off. A pair of hard right hands has Martins on rubbery legs again,
but Larsen just can’t polish him off. Another wide right knocks the
spit out of Martins’ mouth before the end of the round.

seconds later, da Silva is back in full mount. Formiga unloads with
a couple punches on top before being pushed out to guard once
again. Ref Mulhall stands them up with 1:45 left in the round and
Cariaso clips Formiga with a right hook before being shoved against
the fence. Formiga lets go and they’re back to feinting and pawing

runs him against the fence and finishes the takedown. The Brazilian
isn’t mounting anything in the way of offense as he holds Cariaso
on the cage, and ref Mulhall breaks them up with three minutes
remaining in the fight. Cariaso is connecting with sporadic punches
until da Silva puts him on the cage again with another single-leg.
Cariaso sinks a brabo choke with under two minutes left and drags
Formiga to the ground. Formiga twists out, but Cariaso is able to
stay on top and open up a cut on Formiga’s left eye with elbows.

most of which are blocked. Formiga gets to his feet just before the

now, swiping across Gashimov’s face and leaving him stunned while
Lineker follows up with rights to the body. A body kick and a right
hand to the ribs put Gashimov down at the base of the fence, and

against the cage and starts ripping shots to the body inside.

few elbows up top. Hollett turns him around, lands a body shot of
his own, but eats a hard combo from Maldonado. They move to the
other side of the cage, where Maldonado bullies Hollett on the
fence with uppercuts again. Hollett turns it around and Maldonado
escapes with a body shot. Hollett looks for a single-leg with one
minute left in the round. Maldonado puts his back on the fence and
defends the takedown, socking Hollett with short right hands and
mugging to the audience a bit. Maldonado is racking up the body
shots in the last half-minute, and he finishes the round waving

single-leg, but Maldonado pops right back up and puts Hollett’s
back on the fence. Maldonado instantly begins attacking the body
with uppercuts and hooks, punishing Hollett with a couple up top
before the Canadian manages to reverse the position. Maldonado
quickly gets back on the outside and goes back to blasting Hollett
with punches to the body and head. Maldonado is playing with his
food a bit now, letting Hollett stumble around the outside before
picking a spot to clinch and attack. More uppercuts rock the ribs
of an exhausted Hollett, who somehow spins around and escapes
Maldonado’s grasp. Hollett tries to throw some punches, a standing
elbow, but he’s way short. He leans Maldonado against the fence and
Maldonado loops punches around the back of Hollett’s head before
complaining to the ref of Hollett’s inactivity. Ref Roberts breaks
them up with 30 seconds left and Maldonado hits a takedown to

waistlock. Prazeres fends off a throw attempt from Thiago, connects

briefly. Prazeres gets loose and puts Thiago on the cage until
halfway through the round, when ref Yamasaki restarts them.

and it’s Tibau putting Cholish against the fence, but he can’t hold
the American there for long. Tibau catches a Cholish kick, can’t
take advantage. Cholish wings a wild punch and eats a big,
left-handed counter from Tibau that takes out Cholish’s legs. A
right straight from Tibau puts Cholish on his knees, shooting for a
desperation takedown, and Tibau takes advantage by pulling guard
with a guillotine. The first choke doesn’t stick, so Tibau adjusts

instantly. Gleison Tibau gets the win via submission at 2:34 of the

secure the back of the seated Dias. Lentz takes top position now,
grinding with elbows from half-guard on Dias’ left side. Dias tries
to post and escape with his left arm, so Lentz goes after a kimura
on the right. Lentz can’t hold on to the arm as Dias gets to his
feet, but “The Carny” is able to hold Dias on the cage as soon as
they stand. Under two minutes left in the round now and Lentz
sweeps the leg of Dias, then gets his left hook in again. Dias
stands and gets put on his back, where Lentz grinds for a moment
before standing and looking to pass. Dias pops Lentz with an
upkick, so Lentz comes back down and takes full mount with 30

single-leg and holds Dias on the fence. Dias breaks out and tags
Lentz with a couple more punches before taking the outside position
himself. Dias goes for a takedown, so Lentz counters with a
guillotine. Dias frees his head with 3:20 left in the fight and
frames up an arm-triangle choke. Dias is still in half-guard,
squeezing the choke, but Lentz won’t tap. Lentz gets his arm in to
free up some space and releases himself from the arm-triangle. Dias
stays on top despite a near-sweep from Lentz, and now the Brazilian
shoves Lentz back to the ground with 1:40 on the clock. Dias needs
a finish here, but Lentz is doing well to wrap up on the bottom,
