The Ultimate Fighting Championship handed out $50,000 bonuses for in-Octagon performances following UFC on FX 4: Maynard vs. Guida in Atlantic City, N.J., on Friday night. Cub Swanson, Dan Miller, Spencer Fisher, and Sam Stout took home the extra money.
The Knockout of the Night bonus went to Cub Swanson for his second round technical knockout of Ross Pearson. Swanson utilized his speed to beat Pearson to the punch throughout the fight. Pearson rushed in and Swanson landed two right hands and a left hook that put him down. When Pearson failed to respond as Swanson moved in to finish, the referee stopped the fight.
Submission of the Night honors went to Dan Miller for his third round submission win over Ricardo Funch in preliminary action. Miller was up on the scorecards heading in to the final round. He had worked for a couple of guillotine chokes in the previous round, and he got it in the third. He rocked Funch with punches and as Funch desperately tried to get the fight to the canvas, Miller sunk in the guillotine choke and forced him to tap out.
Fight of the Night was awarded to Spencer Fisher and Sam Stout for their trilogy match-up that didn’t disappoint. It was a back and forth battle on the feet, but it was Stout’s takedowns that proved to be the difference. All three judges scored Stout the winner by unanimous decision after 15 minutes of fighting.
The total amount of bonus money awarded following UFC on FX 4 was $200,000.
