UFC on FOX 14 results: Makwan Amirkhani throttles Andy Ogle in eight seconds

STOCKHOLM – Makwan Amirkhani is still pretty after his UFC debut.

Amirkhani (11-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC), a former Finnish beauty pageant contestant, took home a quick win and extended his self-declared streak of damage-free fights by putting Andy Ogle (9-6 MMA, 1-5 UFC) away in just eight seconds.

The featherweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC on FOX 14 event at Tele2 Arena in Stockholm. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following additional prelims on UFC Fight Pass and ahead a main card on FOX.

Afterward, UFC commentator Joe Rogan voiced his opinion that the stoppage was early. Amirkhani deferred the call to referee Kevin Sataki.

“The referee made his choice,” said Amirkhani, who gushed over meeting former “Fear Factor” host Joe Rogan. “I’m the winner now.”

Amirkhani ran across the cage at the opening bell and leaped with a flying knee, which slammed into Ogle. A subsequent uppercut appeared to catch Ogle on the chin, sending him tumbling into the cage. Soon after Amirkhani began punching for the finish, the fight was over.

Ogle protested the stoppage after the official call, pleading that he wasn’t badly hurt, though he appeared to walk on wobbly legs and was trying to take down Sataki when the fight was called.

“Put it in replay,” Amirkhani said. “Look at his hand. It’s down. He’s out.”

Amirkhani now has won three straight, while Ogle, a veteran of “The Ultimate Fighter 15,” is now 1-5 in the promotion and likely faces a pink slip from the UFC.
