UFC Fight Pass streaming service now available on Apple TV

There’s some good news for you UFC Fight Pass subscribers who also own an Apple TV device.

An app for the UFC’s robust digital streaming service, which carries everything from specialty programming to early UFC prelims to full live events, is now available on Apple TV’s main menu.

Apple TV, a set-top box that works with a variety of digital streaming services (and allows you to stream content from your Apple devices, including iPads and iPhones, to your television), rolled out a major software update on Tuesday. UFC Fight Pass was one of the new services available on the $99 device.

In addition to a revamped YouTube app, the update also included additional new services such as Fusion, Dailymotion and The Scene.

For fight fans, though, the inclusion of UFC Fight Pass is a welcomed addition. The UFC launched the service a year ago. Despite some initial hiccups during its free-trial period, developers have found their stride this year.

UFC Fight Pass’ first full event, UFC Fight Night 34, streamed on Jan. 4. Then in July, UFC Fight Night 46 took place in Dublin with featherweight contender Conor McGregor and set a new streaming record for the service. In addition to a host of new and ever-changing specialty programming, UFC Fight Pass also struck a streaming deal with the all-female Invicta FC promotion in June and now streams the organization’s live events.

Throughout the year, the UFC has bolstered the service with past fights from acquired promotions such as the WEC, Strikeforce, PRIDE and others.

UFC Fight Pass subscriptions currently cost $9.99 per month, though annual subscriptions can be purchased at $7.99 per month. Free seven-day trials are also available.
