Alexa Grasso entered her bout with Heather Jo Clark as a heavy favorite, looking at the fighters’ faces after the bout, it’s easy to see why.
The women’s strawweight bout opened up the main card of the UFC Fight Night 98 event at Mexico City Arena in Mexico City. It aired on FS1 following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.
Grasso (9-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) roughed up Clark (7-6 MMA, 1-2 UFC) from the jump, bloodying her early and keeping the pressure on for a clear unanimous decision victory.
When the judges’ scorecards were read, all three saw the fight for Grasso, turning in scores of 30-27, 30-27, and 29-28.
Grasso remains undefeated with the win in her UFC debut. Clark has now lost two in a row.
