UFC Fight Night 83 reactions: Winning and losing fighters on social media

Since the early days when the sport was anything but a mainstream endeavor, the MMA industry has thrived and survived through various websites, forums and, perhaps most importantly, social-media platforms.

Fighters interact with fans, each other and many more through the likes of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, which helps outsiders get a deeper look into the minds of the athletes.

Following Sunday’s UFC Fight Night 83 event in Pittsburgh, several of the winning and losing fighters, along with their coaches, training partners or family members, took to social media to react to the event or share a message with supporters.

Check out some of those reactions.

The defeated

Friends, first I'd like to thank God for my health, my amazing family and for allowing me to be a happy person with a lot of true friends. Yesterday wasn't my day, but I was very well trained, focused and more psycologically prepared than ever, but unfortunately it wasn't my day and my opponent was better than me and I didn't even have the opportunity to show what I've been training. But it doesn't matter anymore, what matters is that I'm doing fine regardless the results, healthy and no injury, I feel happy and level headed, after all we all know about the risks of being up there and I took these risks knowing it. Being a champion is not for everybody, but I also believe that a champion in life is made not only of victory, but also defeats and dedication, and I'm focused in being a champion in life and not only in the octagon and for me this is the right way, so I'll keep taking my chances in life like I've always done. I'd like to thank everyone that supports me and say that I'm doing very good and will bounce back soon!
