Thales Leites extended his winning streak on Saturday night, knocking out Francis Carmont on the main card at UFC Fight Night in Tulsa, Okla.
Leites overwhelmed Carmont in the opening moments of the second round, picking up the finish at the :20 mark of the stanza.
After a first-round snoozer, Leites turned on the afterburners in the second frame and threw an overhand right that found its mark. From the impact, Carmont began to wobble and was pressured against the fence.
Leites, sensing his opponent was in trouble, began throwing a number of punches, landing a right uppercut, followed by a left hook. Carmont fell to the ground, and Leites finished off the fight moments later.
With the win in Tulsa, Leites extends his winning streak in the UFC to four in a row, and further makes his case for a return to contender status in the organization.
In defeat, Carmont has now lost three in a row, after beginning his UFC career with six consecutive wins.
