UFC Fight Night 38 Medical Suspensions: Shogun Rua Sidelined Up to Six Months

Shogun-UFC139-presserDan Henderson and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua rematched at UFC Fight Night 38 on March 23 in Natal, Brazil. Living up to the spectacle of their original five-round battle at UFC 139 was nearly impossible, but they came close.

Shogun had his opponent on the brink of defeat in the opening rounds, but Henderson landed his patented H-Bomb in the third, flooring Shogun and finishing the fight.

He broke Shogun’s nose in the process, putting the Brazilian on the medically suspended list for up to six months.

The Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA) on Monday released the UFC Fight Night 38 medical suspensions. Shogun topped the list of lengthy suspensions, although Michel Prazeres joined him as the only other fighter on the card that received a 180-day suspension.
