INDIANAPOLIS – Wednesday night’s UFC Fight Night 27 event drew an announced attendance of 5,950 and a live gate of $355,290.
UFC President Dana White announced the figures at the night’s post-event news conference, which MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) attended.
UFC Fight Night 27 took place at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis and featured a welterweight rematch in the headliner between former interim champ Carlos Condit and perennial contender Martin Kampmann. The event’s main card aired on FOX Sports 1 following prelims that aired on FOX Sports 2 and streamed Facebook.
In the main event, Condit survived some early trouble to rally for a fourth-round stoppage of Kampmann. In the co-main event, Rafael dos Anjos outstruck Donald Cerrone en route to a unanimous decision.
The Indiana Gaming Commission’s athletic division is expected to verify the figures and release official totals in the coming days.
While the number of “comp” or free tickets was not revealed, the figures represent an average revenue of $59.71 per ticket issued.
UFC Fight Night 27 was the promotion’s second visit to Indianapolis. In September 2010, the UFC 119 pay-per-view headlined by Frank Mir vs. Mirko “Cro Cop” Filiovic drew 15,811 fans for a $1,588,163 live gate. That figure included a total of 2,028 tickets that were issued complementary.
Additionally, that card took place on a Saturday night rather than a Wednesday.
