UFC Fight Night 101: Andrew Holbrook vs. Jake Matthews video highlights

Andrew Holbrook was a massive underdog when he entered the cage to face Jake Matthews. The odds didn’t matter to Holbrook, however, because he took home a split decision victory.

The lightweight bout was the co-main event of today’s UFC Fight Night 101 event at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It aired on FS1 following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.

The mat-based affair went the way of Holbrook (12-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) when he was able to impose his grinding gameplan on the more athletic Matthews (10-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC). A foot injury to Matthews slowed him as well, but it was the top game of Holbrook that earned him the split decision on the scorecards by tallies of 29-28, 28-29, and 29-28.
