'UFC 205: On the Ground,' No. 1: Fight week finally arrives in New York City

NEW YORK – The UFC finally has returned to the state of New York, and for the first time an event will take place in the storied and hallowed combat sports venue of Madison Square Garden.

Today in New York City, the fighters from UFC 205 worked out for the fans and met with the media ahead of Saturday’s card, which airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.

MMAjunkie’s Mike Bohn and Chamatkar Sandhu recap the hectic first day of fight week activiies from Manhattan, including featherweight champ Conor McGregor (20-3 MMA, 8-1 UFC) briefly changing sports before his title fight for lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez’s (28-4 MMA, 3-1 UFC) belt.
