UFC 183 Medical Suspensions: Miesha Tate Among Those Facing Six Months | MMAWeekly.com

The Nevada Athletic Commission released the medical suspensions stemming from UFC 183: Silva vs. Diaz on Tuesday. The event took place on Jan. 31 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Five fighters face potential six-month suspensions for injuries sustained inside the Octagon.

The returns of Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz took center stage at UFC 183, with Silva winning the fight via unanimous decision.

Miesha Tate and Tyron Woodley, however, are in the spotlight when it comes to medical suspensions, each fighter is potentially facing six months on the sidelines.

UFC 183 Medical Suspensions

Nick Diaz was suspended until March 18 due to facial lacerations and can’t have contact until March 3.

Anderson Silva received a suspension until March 3 and can’t have contact until Feb. 22.

Kelvin Gastelum can’t compete until March 18 and have no contact until March 3 due to a cut on his left eyebrow.

Tyron Woodley was suspended six months for a broken foot, or cleared by an orthopedic doctor.

Joe Lauzon received a suspension until April 2 with no contact before March 18.

Tim Boetsch must have his right knee cleared by a doctor and right eye abrasion cleared by an ophthalmologist of be sidelined until July 31. He can’t have contact before March 3 due to facial lacerations.

Jordan Mein can not compete before March 3 and have no contact until Feb. 22.

Miesha Tate much have her left orbital cleared by a doctor and left elbow cleared by a doctor or she can’t compete before July 31, with no contact before March 3.

Ed Herman received a suspension until March 18 and can’t have contact before March 3.

John Liimeker must have his right foot x-rayed and cleared by a doctor or he can’t compete before July 31.

Ian McCall was suspended until March 18 with no contact before March 3.

Tom Watson must have his right foot x-rayed and cleared by a doctor or be sidelined until July 31. He can’t have any contact before Feb. 22.

Andy Enz received a suspension until March 18 with no contact before March 3.
