UFC 173 draws 11,036 attendance for $1.7 million live gate

LAS VEGAS – Saturday’s UFC 173 event at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas drew an announced attendance of 11,036 and a live gate of $1.7 million.

UFC President Dana White announced the tallies at the post-fight press conference. Official figures should be available later in the week.

UFC 173 took place at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. The main card aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

In the main event, heavy underdog T.J. Dillashaw upset bantamweight champion Renan Barao to win the title. In the co-feature, Daniel Cormier dominated Dan Henderson in a light heavyweight bout.

Among the UFC’s five PPV events in 2014, UFC 173 is now fourth in attendance and third among live gates.

The full list of attendance figures for the UFC’s 2014 pay-per-view events includes:

  1. UFC 171: 19,324 ($2,600,000 live gate) in Dallas
  2. UFC 169: 14,308 ($1,651,000 live gate) in Newark, N.J.
  3. UFC 172: 13,485 ($2,300,000 live gate) in Baltimore
  4. UFC 173: 11,036 ($1,700,000 live gate) in Las Vegas
  5. UFC 170: 10,217 ($1,558,870 live gate) in Las Vegas
