Johny Hendricks walked away from UFC 171 with the UFC welterweight title, but both “Bigg Rigg” and opponent Robbie Lawler pocketed $50,000 in post-fight bonus money following their riveting main event.

Hendricks and Lawler earned “Fight of the Night” honors for their sublime five-rounder, which aired live on pay-per-view. Their back-and-forth slugfest topped a 13-fight bill that took place at American Airlines Arena in Dallas, with Hendricks snatching a unanimous decision and the vacant title in a gutsy performance.

Ovince St. Preux and Dennis Bermudez also earned $50,000 awards on Saturday night, as both undercard competitors were awarded “Performance of the Night” bonuses. St. Preux made quick work of Nikita Krylov at light heavyweight, taking the Ukranian to the mat and putting him to sleep with a shoulder choke in just 89 seconds.

Bermudez needed more time to put away game grappler Jim Hettes, but “The Menace” produced a finish nonetheless, dominating “The Kid” physically throughout the featherweight contest before stopping him with third-round strikes
