Tyler Voth Gunning for a Win Over Jeimeson Saudino, Then a Shot at RFA Bantamweight Belt

Tyler Voth“I just felt it was time to take my career to the next level and start training with the best guys in the world.”

That is the catalyst for 125-pound prospect Tyler Voth’s decision to join Team Alpha Male following an impressive start to his career in the Southeastern MMA scene that included seven wins as an amateur and a 5-1 start to his pro career.

“I was training back home when I first turned pro and the last six months I’ve been out at Team Alpha Male, so I’ve made the biggest jump of my career being out here with these guys,” said Voth. “So far it’s been a very rewarding experience.”

Voth is especially happy with the progress he’s made with outgoing team Head Coach Duane “Bang” Ludwig.

“Getting to work with Duane has really increased my stand-up skills, and working with all these great wrestlers has taken my wrestling higher than it was before,” said Voth. “It’s completely changing my game all around.

“(My game is no longer) just from a pure wrestling standpoint, I’m able to blend all aspects of MMA into it.”

Voth will get a chance to showcase his skills on a national level as he faces Jeimeson Saudino (8-2) in a feature 125-pound showdown on Friday in Cheyenne, Wyo.

“It’s been a year since my last fight, and since then it’s been all training, so I feel this next fight will be the biggest jump in my career so far,” Voth told MMAWeekly.com.

“I think it’s going to have to come down to heart because it’s going to be a tough fight. I’m going to have to battle to get the win for sure.”

A win over Saudino will set Voth up for yet another step in his career. And as long as he keeps making these steps forward, that’s all that matters to him.

“It’s really exciting to fight in a bigger promotion like this and have it televised (on AXS TV) so all my family and friends can watch it,” said Voth. “It feels like I’m taking the right steps towards the bigger shows and it’s super-exciting and I’m enjoying the experience.

“This is a No. 1 contender fight for a title shot in the RFA, so my goal is to win the RFA title this year. Before that though, I’m focused on this fight.”
