Two Fighters Drug Tested at UFC on FX 3; Both Come Back Clean

Twenty-four fighters competed on the UFC on FX 3 fight card on Friday night in Sunrise, Fla. Of those 24, two were selected for drug testing by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Main eventers Demetrious Johnson and Ian McCall were the two fighters drug tested at UFC on FX 3, and according to the Florida DBPR, both came back negative.

While drug testing in mixed martial arts has been a hot-button issue lately, with the UFC receiving the brunt of the criticism, it is the athletic commissions and other government regulators that determine which fighters will be tested at any given event.

The UFC, of course, can and sometimes does institute its own testing, such as a qualifier for The Ultimate Fighter reality series, as well as prior to putting an athlete under contract.
