Twitter reacts to Mark Hunt and Antonio Silva’s UFC Fight Night 33 main-event draw


The UFC Fight Night 33 main event between Mark Hunt and Antonio Silva was one of the most dramatic fights of the year, and in the end, the five-round heavyweight war was declared a majority draw.

Going into the fight few expected Hunt (9-8-1 MMA, 4-2-1 UFC) and Silva (18-5-1 MMA, 2-2-1 UFC) to last five minutes against each other in the cage, let alone five rounds. Despite both men being dramatically fatigued as the fight wore on, they continued to go after a finish until the final bell.

While a draw would typically produce rage from the MMA community, Friday’s memorable headliner from Australia on FOX Sports 1 was a rare instance where it’s hard to argue the result.
