The UFC’s Maine debut now as two fights, with middleweights Tim Boetsch (17-7 MMA, 8-6 UFC) vs. Brad Tavares (12-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) and heavyweights Shawn Jordan (15-6 MMA, 3-3 UFC) vs. Jack May (7-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC).

The Bangor Daily News today announced the contests, and MMAjunkie subsequently confirmed the matchups with UFC officials.

The fights take place at UFC Fight Night 47, which takes place at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. The event’s main card airs on FOX Sports 1, though the positioning of the two bouts on the night’s lineup has yet to be revealed.

Boetsch finds himself in desperate need of a win following a frustrating submission loss to Luke Rockhold at April’s UFC 172 event. The loss saw Boetsch fall to just 1-3 in his past four outings, with the lone win during that stretch coming via controversial split decision at UFC 166.

Tavares is currently an honorable mention in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA middleweight rankings. The Hawaiian built a five-fight winning streak after downing Lorenz Larkin, Robert McDaniel, Riki Fukuda, Tom Watson and Dongi Yang, but Yoel Romero brought that run to an end by outwrestling Tavares for a decision win this past April.

A former Strikeforce and Bellator MMA veteran, Jordan opened his UFC run at 3-1 in his past four contests. However, he’s since struggled with back-to-back knockout losses to Matt Mitrione and Gabriel Gonzaga.

Meanwhile, May has fought professionally since 2011 and opened his career with seven consecutive victories. However, in April he made his UFC debut and suffered the first loss of his career, losing via TKO to Derrick Lewis.
