The UFC will land back on Fuel TV for their second broadcast show this weekend from Stockholm, Sweden, with the third show already scheduled for May 15 in Virginia for UFC on Fuel 3.
As the television landscape for the UFC continues to develop with their new partners at Fox, FX and Fuel TV, more shows are on the way for 2012.
During a conference call with media on Tuesday, Fuel TV Executive Vice President and General Manager George Greenberg laid out a tentative plan for the UFC’s shows on the network for this year.
“(UFC on Fuel) 4 you’re looking at July,” Greenberg stated.
UFC on Fuel 5 and UFC on Fuel 6 will come down the pipe later this year, and from the sound of things they are staggering things out a bit more after the summer show proposed for July.
UFC on Fuel 5 looks to happen in early September with the final UFC on Fuel for 2012 happening nearer towards the end of the year.
“Right now for us we’re probably, the fifth one could be September 4th, and I think the sixth one perhaps November, not exactly sure yet, things are still floating around, but I would say probably September/November,” said Greenberg.
The first ever UFC on Fuel broadcast in February featuring a welterweight main event between Jake Ellenberger and Diego Sanchez broke all records for the fledgling sports station, and they are expecting big numbers again this weekend for UFC on Fuel 2.
The first quarter of 2012 was the most watched in the network’s history with a 100-percent increase in total viewers during that time.
The network expects similar numbers plus even more growth as the UFC audience continues to journey to Fuel TV for future live shows as well.
