Headlined by a pivotal light heavyweight showdown pitting prospect Alexander Gustafsson against former Strikeforce champion Gegard Mousasi, UFC on Fuel TV 9 takes place at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm. Both Cella and Troeng confirmed their pairing Friday afternoon on Twitter.
Troeng, 30, rode a four-fight winning streak into his run on “TUF 17” before suffering an exhibition knockout at the hands of Josh Samman. Known as “The Hammer,” Troeng owns 11 of his 15 career victories by either knockout or submission, with the Swede competing mostly on home soil in his seven years as a pro.
Like his opponent, Cella also fell victim to a devastating knockout during the taping of “TUF 17,” as the Missourian was put away with a spinning heel kick from Uriah Hall. Despite that exhibition setback, Cella still holds a 4-0 pro record, last competing June 1 under the Shamrock Productions banner.
