Bellator 89 averaged 719,000 viewers for its Thursday night broadcast on Spike TV.

Sherdog.com recently verified the information with an industry source, who also confirmed that the event’s immediate replay attracted an additional 313,000 observers, bringing the total to 1,032,000 viewers for the four-hour block.

The showing represents a modest decrease from last week’s live viewership, which totaled 807,000 viewers. Through five Season 8 events, Bellator has averaged 796,000 viewers, setting its season high in the promotion’s premiere on Spike TV, which netted 938,000 observers.

Bellator 89 took place at the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte N.C., and was headlined by a bantamweight title collision between reigning champion Eduardo Dantas and Season 6 tournament winner Marcos Galvao. “Dudu” retained his title, dispatching his Nova Uniao teammate with a vicious uppercut midway through round two.
