Source: UFC 150 Prelims on FX Drew 974,000 Viewers

The UFC 150 prelims attracted 974,000 viewers for its Saturday night broadcast on cable network FX, Sherdog.com confirmed Tuesday with an industry source.

The telecast featured four fights and immediately preceded the evening’s main card, which showcased a lightweight title rematch between Benson Henderson and Frankie Edgar and aired live on pay-per-view.

UFC 150 took place at Pepsi Center in Denver and also featured a “Fight of the Night” winning co-headliner between former teammates Donald Cerrone and Melvin Guillard.

The reported figure for the preliminary broadcast marks a slight decline from the promotion’s previous effort in the series, as the UFC 149 prelims averaged 1 million viewers on July 21. The high for an undercard broadcast on FX was set earlier that month, when the UFC 148 prelims attracted 1.8 million observers.

Saturday’s preliminary draw contained a pair of bantamweight conflicts pitting Octagon newcomer Chico Camus against “Ultimate Fighter 14” veteran Dustin Page and Mexican-born prospect Erik Perez against onetime WEC talent Ken Stone, with Camus and Perez both earning victories. Dutch middleweight Michael Kuiper also got his hand raised during the FX broadcast, as did “TUF 14” featherweight runner-up Dennis Bermudez, finishing Jared Hamman and Tommy Hayden, respectively.
