Ronda Rousey has an opponent for her next title defense, but it isn’t Gina Carano.

UFC President Dana White announced via Twitter on Friday night that Rousey will defend her bantamweight crown against Alexis Davis at UFC 175. White reportedly met with Carano earlier this week, leading to speculation that the former Strikeforce talent would be next to receive a shot at Rousey’s title. However, Carano’s future in MMA remains uncertain – at least for now.

UFC 175 takes place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on July 5 and is headlined by a middleweight title showdown between Chris Weidman and Lyoto Machida. The card also includes a clash between “Ultimate Fighter: Brazil ” Season 3 coaches Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva.

Rousey is unbeaten in nine professional outings, including three title defenses in the UFC. Most recently, the Olympic judoka stopped Sara McMann with a knee to the body just 66 seconds into their UFC 170 matchup. Rousey has also bested Miesha Tate and Liz Carmouche during her championship reign.

Davis, meanwhile, has posted victories over Rosi Sexton, Carmouche and Jessica Eye inside the Octagon to earn her shot at the belt. A veteran of Strikeforce and Invicta Fighting Championships, “Ally-Gator” also owns notable wins against Shayna Baszler, Hitomi Akano, Amanda Nunes and Julie Kedzie, to name a few.
