Report: Venue, Date Changes for UFC 128, 129

The promotion has made changes to the locations of both UFC 128 and UFC 129, according to an MMAWeekly.com report. The UFC will reportedly now hold UFC 128 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., while UFC 129 is now slated for the Rogers Centre in Toronto.
UFC 128 was originally supposed to be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, but after the promotion had trouble securing a venue, the location was scrapped. UFC 129, meanwhile, was planned for New Jersey, but in light of the problem with Abu Dhabi, the card will now take place as UFC 128. The event, booked for March 19, will reportedly feature a main event light heavyweight tilt between champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and challenger Rashad Evans. Also rumored for the event is a 205-pound clash between veterans Tito Ortiz and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, as well as a lightweight attraction between Kurt Pellegrino and Gleison Tibau.
Toronto was initially the site of UFC 131, but now will now go down as UFC 129. The date of the event has not changed and will go on as planned on April 30. No bouts have been announced for the show, which will mark the UFC’s first trip to Ontario. Mixed martial arts was legalized in the Canadian province in August.
