The Duke Roufus camp continued to have success on Friday, adding another champion to its fold at Resurrection Fighting Alliance 10.
Mike Rhodes (7-1) dominated Alan Jouban on the scorecards, taking a 50-45, 49-46, 49-46 decision to win RFA’s first welterweight title. Rhodes now joins the likes of UFC lightweight champ Anthony Pettis and Bellator welterweight champ Ben Askren as Roufusport fighters with gold.
RFA 10 took place at Hy Vee Hall in Des Moines, Iowa, and had a main card that aired live on AXS TV. Rhodes vs. Jouban was the event’s headliner.
In the co-feature, former UFC fighter Justin Lawrence (5-2) started his road back after being released from the UFC following back-to-back losses. The “TUF 15? vet beat up Luis Saldana (7-2) on the ground en route to a unanimous decision win.
But if it’s finishes you want, some big moments took place earlier in the night when Miles Marshall stopped Jordan Sanford in the first round, and Cory Galloway, who trains with Jeff and Pat Curran, stopped Jeff Bates.
