Pace-Torres, McDonald-Eduardo Targeted for UFC 139 on Nov. 19

A pair of bantamweight contests has been added to UFC 139, promotion officials announced Tuesday, as former WEC champion Miguel Torres will meet Nick Pace while rising prospect Michael McDonald will square off with Johnny Eduardo.

UFC 139 goes down Nov. 19 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif., and will feature a main event between former world champions Dan Henderson and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. Also showcasing a middleweight attraction between sanshou stylist Cung Le and former Pride Fighting Championships star Wanderlei Silva, the event marks the UFC’s first trip to San Jose, the former longtime home of Strikeforce.

Torres (Pictured) has won two of his last three after dropping back-to-back bouts for the first time. Following his defeats to Brian Bowles and Joseph Benavidez, the 30-year-old posted wins over Charlie Valencia and Antonio Banuelos before falling to Demetrious Johnson in a contentious unanimous decision at UFC 130 in May.

Pace has lost two of his last three fights after winning five straight to start his career. The Tiger Schulmann Fight Team representative was first outpointed by Johnson before rebounding with an impressive submission victory over Will Campuzano in his UFC debut. Most recently, Pace was outpointed in August by Ivan Menjivar at UFC 133.

Only 20 years old, McDonald has tasted defeat just once in 14 professional fights. Hailing from Modesto, Calif., McDonald has won his last six contests. The prospect's last in-cage appearance came at UFC 130, as he earned a hard-fought split decision over Chris Cariaso.

Eduardo, 33, recently had an 11-fight winning streak snapped by Raphael Assuncao at UFC 134. Prior to that defeat, the Brazilian had not lost since 2007. Nearly a 15-year veteran of the sport, the Nova Uniao export has finished over half of his 25 career victims by submission.
