Nevada Athletic Commission: All UFC 146 Drug Tests Come Back Clean

All UFC 146 drug tests came back negative, according to Keith Kizer, executive director of the Nevada Athletic Commission.

Kizer informed Sherdog.com of the results on Friday, revealing that all 24 fighters who competed at the show were tested for both steroids and drugs of abuse.

UFC 146 took place May 26 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and was headlined by Junior dos Santos’ first defense of his heavyweight championship. β€œCigano” dashed ex-champion Frank Mir’s hopes of reclaiming the crown by using his potent boxing attack to land hard combinations on Mir in the first two rounds. The end came just over eight minutes into the contest, as dos Santos floored Mir with a straight right hand and finished the job with a hard hammer fist to the skull of his fallen foe.

The all-heavyweight main draw also saw Cain Velasquez emerge victorious, as the former heavyweight titlist stopped Antonio Silva with ground-and-pound in the first frame of their co-headlining attraction. Roy Nelson, Stipe Miocic and Stefan Struve also picked up finishes on the pay-per-view broadcast, stopping Dave Herman, Shane del Rosario and Lavar Johnson, respectively.
