A lightweight bout between Mairbek Taisumov (23-5 MMA, 3-1 UFC) and Alan Patrick (12-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has joined June’s UFC Fight Night 69 lineup in Germany.
Patrick recently confirmed an initial report from Combate, though the organization hasn’t officially announced the matchup.
UFC Fight Night 69 takes place June 20 at O2 World Berlin in Germany’s capital city. The entire event streams on UFC Fight Pass. A light-heavyweight bout between recent title challengers Alexander Gustafsson and Glover Teixeira headlines.
Taisumov, a 26-year-old Chechen-Russian who’s based out of Austria, made his UFC debut in 2014 after a lengthy run with M-1 Global, where one of his few losses came in an unsuccessful title bid. After the title loss, he went 9-1, which included a UFC-debut win over Tae Hyun Bang. He then suffered a decision loss to Michel Prazeres but has since rebounded with back-to-back knockout wins over Marcin Bandel and Anthony Christodoulou.
He now looks for his fourth win in five UFC fights when he takes on Patrick, who joined the organization after winning a title with Bitetti Combat in 2013. The 31-year-old has continued his undefeated streak with UFC wins over Garett Whiteley and John Makdessi. Now healed from a jaw injury, he’ll return from a 16-month layoff.
