With the Legacy Fighting Alliance men’s and women’s flyweight belts up for grabs, former Cuban Olympic wrestler Maikel Perez (7-1) and “The Colombian Queen” Sabina Mazo (5-0) delivered championship performances to win the vacant titles on AXS TV FIGHTS: LFA 37 on Friday night.
In the co-main event, Mazo took care of business against Shannon Sinn’s (5-6) tough defense, out-scoring her for five rounds and winning the unanimous decision, 50-45, for the LFA women’s flyweight belt.
Then, Perez took center stage in a back-and-forth battle against Sid Bice (8-2), eventually taking Bice’s back and hammering strikes before the referee stopped the action.
The Legacy Fighting Alliance isn’t taking any breaks, as it returns next week with LFA 38: Hughes vs. Greene, which features a heavyweight championship bout between Jeff Hughes and Maurice Greene in Minneapolis, Minn.
