Spike TV issued a release on Monday announcing the 32 fighters who will compete for a $100,000 prize as well as a spot in a future Bellator 170-pound tournament. The show, which features Randy Couture, Greg Jackson, Frank Shamrock and Joe Warren as coaches, premieres on June 19 at 10 p.m. ET on Spike.
Notables include Strikeforce and UFC veteran Joe Riggs, five-time Bellator competitor Chris Lozano and ex-Legacy Fighting Championships welterweight titlist Mike Bronzoulis, to name a few. Fighters will be allowed to choose their coaches and opponents, according to the release.
Spike TV will broadcast 10 hour-long episodes, with qualifying bouts to be held during the show’s first airings. The finale will be broadcast live on Spike. The Viacom-owned network aired the first 14 seasons of “The Ultimate Fighter” before the UFC signed a contract with Fox Sports and moved the reality series to FX in 2012.
