Henry Cejudo has many of his 'TUF 24' team members training at his gym

Henry Cejudo no doubt entered his stint as a coach on “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 24 uncertain of how the experience would impact him.

In the end, it turns out the experience left him with new friends and training partners at CSA in Dublin, Calif.

“We have Alexandre Pantoja out with us,” Cejudo told MMAjunkie Radio of the members of his team who have come to train with him. “Zulu Boy (Nkazimulo Zulu) who later becomes King Zulu – I don’t know if they’re going to show that, but we have him. Matt Schnell, Adam (Antolin) and then we have Yoni (Sherbatov) coming out in November. We pretty much have four out of the eight guys in a reunion. People can say what they want to say, but we’re all changing together.”

Cejudo (10-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) is preparing for a flyweight showdown with rival coach Joseph Benavidez (24-4 MMA, 11-2 UFC) at the show’s finale, which takes place Dec. 3 at The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and airs on FS1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass. In the main event, the season’s winner will face off with flyweight champ Demetrious Johnson.

The previously-filmed reality show is currently to the quarterfinal stage. Each coach has four fighters in the quarterfinals, with each coach also having two of their fighters facing off against each other.

For Cejudo, that means watching teammates Alexandre Pantoja and Kai Kara-France stand across the cage and battle to move one step closer to a shot at UFC gold.

Cejudo said the experience was an emotional one.

:It’s unfortunate because you really do get attached to these guys for these six weeks,” Cejudo said. “You see these guys fight and it’s unfortunate because they become friends. Even on the opposing side with Team Benavidez, they become friends (with those guys). In this situation, it kind of sucks because these are your two guys you’ve been teaching pretty much the same techniques and tactics and now you have to go off and let them be on their own. When you watch the show, I’m not in either of their corners, I’m just sitting and spectating.”
