It had been a long time since Frankie Edgar fought a three-round bout, but the former UFC lightweight champion took advantage of the lesser number of rounds, defeating Charles Oliveira at Saturday night’s UFC 162 in Las Vegas. It was his first featherweight victory and, more importantly, it ended a three-fight skid.
Edgar couldn’t have been happier, and even managed to laugh off comments from those who might suggest he now consider a drop to bantamweight.
