Holly Holm‘s move from professional boxing to a full-time MMA career will continue in October at Legacy FC 24.
Legacy FC promoter Mick Maynard today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) the undefeated 31-year-old will fight on the fall card. An opponent hasn’t been finalized.
Legacy FC 24 takes place Oct. 11 at Allen Event Center in Allen, Texas. The night’s main card airs on AXS TV.
Holm (4-0), who went 33-2-3 during an 11-year pro boxing career, recently had her first MMA fight since retiring from the squared circle. In her promotional debut at Legacy FC 21 in July, she scored a dramatic second-round knockout via head kick over Allanna Jones. Holm, who usually fights at bantamweight, met Jones at a catchweight of 140 pounds.
All of Holm’s MMA wins have now come via knockout.
A pupil of famed trainer Mike Winkeljohn at Jackson-Winkeljohn MMA in Albuquerque, N.M, Holm made her MMA debut in March 2011. She’s also kickboxed professionally.
Legacy FC has sent numerous fighters to the UFC in recent years. Should Holm eventually follow suit, she’d be one of the more notable names in the UFC’s burgeoning women’s 135-pound division.
