Dinosaurs, sharks, bacon and beer: Bellator previews Prindle vs. Thompson

There are fights that have a ton on the line, and there are fights that are just plain fun.

It appears that Bellator MMA is looking at its heavyweight tilt tonight between Eric Prindle (8-5 MMA, 3-4 BMMA) and James Thompson (19-14 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) as one of those fun ones.

The two heavyweights meet at Bellator 121 tonight at WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Okla. The main card, with Prindle-Thompson, airs on Spike TV following prelims on Spike.com.

“Things that are awesome,” the video proclaims, before launching into awesome items, “The T-rex. Dynamite. Hot chicks. But most of all, it’s two big men standing in the center of a cage, throwing heavy leather.”

Bellator also references Prindle’s “nut shot heard ’round the world,” (on the receiving end vs. Thiago Santos, and on the giving end against him in their rematch), and calls the bout a “high-concept fight that is MMA’s version of Godzilla vs. King Kong, a tiger fighting a shark, or a side of bacon and a chocolate milkshake.”

Who says MMA can’t be a little fun?
